Sterilize seeds before placing on wet germination paper. Place seeds in 4\u00baC for two weeks, then germinate under a constant temperature of 25\u00baC or with an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20\u00baC (with an 8\/16hr photoperiod).<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Morphology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fruit<\/strong>: The fruit is composed of 4 one-seeded nutlets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed<\/strong>: Round, dark to yellowish\/light brown<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed size: <\/strong>length: 1.2 to 1.4 mm; width: 1.1 mm<\/p>\n<p><strong>Average 1000 seed weight: <\/strong>0.2 &#8211; 0.3 g<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biological features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Life Form: <\/strong>A perennial, cushion shape subshrub, cespitose with abundant branches that lie prostrate on the ground and 3\u201310 cm long flowering stems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flower type and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Violet or purple flowers are tubular and 2-lipped (zygomorphic). They are arranged in a loose head inflorescence.
