Sterilize seeds before placing on wet germination paper. Place seeds in 4\u00baC for one month, then germinate under a constant temperature of 25\u00baC or with an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20\u00baC with an 8\/16hr photoperiod.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morphology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fruit: <\/strong>The fruit is composed of 4 one-seeded nutlets. Pericarp tightly surrounds each seed.<\/p>\n<p>Seed: Brown, oblong-ellipsoid, areole lateral bi-lobed, nutlet surface is sculptured, characterized by having small rounded tubercles.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed size<\/strong>: Seed length: 0.9-1.1, width: 0.8-0.9 mm in an accession from Jiroft, Kerman with 1000 seeds weight 0.57 g.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Average 1000 seed weight<\/strong>: 0.3-0.9 g.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Biological features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Life Form: Perennial, many-stemmed, woody at base.<\/p>\n<p>Flower type and pollination mechanisms: Inflorescences closely spaces verticillasters, spike-like, corolla purple, 12-15 mm long.
