Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC 20\u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours of light and the lower one for 8 hours of dark).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Morphology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fruit:<\/strong> Nut<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed:<\/strong> Nutlets ovoid-ellipsoid, dorsal side convex, ventral side angular with indistinct rib, areole (whitish hilum at the base) bi-lobed. Surface indistinctly reticulate, slightly lustrous, brown with black spots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed size<\/strong>: Length: 1.8-1.9 mm, width: 0.9-1.1 mm in an accession from Meshginshahr, Ardabil with 1000 seed weight 0.6 g, which was collected in 2005 by Imani, the cultivated sample was identified by Ziba Jamehzad with accession number 13301.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1000 seed weight:<\/strong> 0.6 g.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Biological features<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Life form<\/strong>: Perennial, erect, or with curved stems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inflorescence and flower type and pollination mechanisms: <\/strong>Inflorescence spike-like with closely spaced verticillasters in the upper part and interrupted verticillasters in the lower part. Flowers hermaphrodite, zygomorphic, corolla purple, 11-16 mm in length. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinate. Pollination is carried out by insects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flowering Period: <\/strong>summer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time of seed ripening: <\/strong>End of the summer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seed dispersal methods: <\/strong>The seeds are displaced by weight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Geographical distribution:<\/strong> Iran and Iraq.
