Seed Storage<\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds); dry to 15-20 % eRH and stored at -20 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species show non-deep dormancy. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/25 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours of light and the lower one for 8 hours of dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit\/seed: <\/strong>Achene<\/p>\n

Fruit\/seed shape:<\/strong> Achenes broadly-ellipsoid, areole lateral straight, surface with rounded tubercles, black<\/p>\n

Fruit\/seed size:<\/strong> Length 1.51-1.77 mm, and width 1.08-1.14 mm in an accession from Kerman with 1000 seed\/ fruit weight 0.5 g, which was collected and \u200cidentified in 2016 by Purmirzaii with an accession number 45482.<\/p>\n

Average 1000 seed\/fruit weight:<\/strong> 0.3-0.5 g<\/p>\n

Life form:<\/strong> Herbaceous, perennial<\/p>\n

Inflorescences, flower type and pollination mechanisms:<\/strong> Inflorescence cyme. Flowers hermaphrodite, zygomorphic, corolla pale blue to purple, 12-15 mm long, covered with hairs. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects, especially bees.<\/p>\n
