Seed Storage <\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15-20% eRH, and store at -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination<\/strong> requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 \u00baC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit type:<\/strong> Pod<\/p>\n

Fruit shape:<\/strong> Oblong, with 2 mm stalk, flat at the dorsal and\u00a0 convex at the ventral side, with short (3 mm) beak at the end, covered with dense silkily appressed \u2013hairs, 4 to 5 seeded, brown to green<\/p>\n

Fruit size:<\/strong> Length 24 to 30 mm; width 7 to 8 mm<\/p>\n

Seed shape:<\/strong> Spheric-elliptic, surface smooth, dark brown<\/p>\n

Seed size: <\/strong>length 3.54 to 3.59 mm, width 3.26 to 3.59 mm in an accession from Khorramabad, Lorestan, with 1000 seeds weight 65 g, which was collected in 2007 by Darvishiyan and the cultivated sample was identified by Nastaran Jalilian with an accession number of 27960<\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Annual herb, with short hairs, 14 to 40 cm height<\/p>\n

Inflorescence,<\/strong> flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescence raceme with or without short peduncle. Flowers solitary, yellow, located around the flower axis. Calyx campanulate with appressed thin and dense hairs. Flowers hermaphrodite and self-pollinating. Pollination is carried out by insects (entomophily<\/em>).<\/p>\n
