Seed Storage <\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15 to 20% eRH, and store at -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination<\/strong> requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 \u00baC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit type:<\/strong> Silique<\/p>\n

Fruit shape:<\/strong> Prolonged oblong to oblanceolate, flattened, longitudinally ridged at the center of each side, on base narrowed, on apex rounded, widely winged, surface glabrous to pubescent<\/p>\n

Fruit size: <\/strong>Length 17 to 27 mm, width 2 mm<\/p>\n

Seed shape:<\/strong> Prolonged ovate, radicular furrow distinct, wingless. Surface indistinct reticulate, glabrous, lustrous, orange-brown, hilum part dark<\/p>\n

Seed size: <\/strong>Length 2.75 to 3.67 mm, width 1.03 to 1.47 mm in an accession from Noshahr, Mazandaran, with 1000 seeds weight 10.6 g, which was collected and identified in 2019 by Shahram kiadaliri, and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number 47841.<\/p>\n

Average 1000 seed weight:<\/strong> 6 to 11 g<\/p>\n

Biological<\/strong> features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Biennial, glabrous or pubescent. Stem erect, height 30 to 80 cm<\/p>\n

Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescence compound corymb, flowers actinomorphic, sepals caesious, with membranous border, petals yellow. Flowers hermaphrodite and cross-pollinating. Pollination is carried out by insects and wind.<\/p>\n

Time of seed ripening:<\/strong> July<\/p>\n

Seed dispersal methods:<\/strong> Wind and seed weight<\/p>\n

Geographical distribution<\/strong>:<\/strong> Endemic to Iran. Typus from Iran, Pol-e Zanguleh<\/p>\n

Distribution in Iran:<\/strong> North and Center. Mostly in provinces Mazandaran, Semnan and Tehran<\/p>\n
