Seed Storage <\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15-20% eRH, and store at -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination<\/strong> requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 \u00baC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit <\/strong>type:<\/strong> Achene<\/p>\n

Fruit shape:<\/strong> Eelliptic, bi-convex, areole two oblique lobs, 0.4 to 0.5 mm long. Surface glabrous, lustrous, black to dark brown<\/p>\n

Fruit <\/strong>size: <\/strong>Length 1.49 to 1.79 mm, width 0.65 to 0.75 mm in an accession from Sorkheh, Semnan, with 1000 seed\/fruit weight 0.5 g, which was collected in 2019 by Amir Madah identified with an accession number of 47273.<\/p>\n

Biological features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Annual, herbaceous, woody at base. Stems decumbent, height 14 to 40 cm, pubescent<\/p>\n

Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescence head-like; flowers zygomorphic, calyx gamosepalous,\u200c tubular, 6 to 8 mm in long, 2-lipped, upper lip 3-toothed, lower lip 2-toothed; corolla gamopetalous, 8 to 10 mm in long, 2-lipped, upper lip 2 \u00a0separated lobs, lower lip 3-lobed.\u00a0 \u200cPlant monoecious, \u200ccross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects, especially bees.<\/p>\n
