The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds); dry to 15-20 % eRH and stored at -20 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks in 4\u00baC germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/25\u200c \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours of light and the lower one for 8 hours of dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit type:<\/strong> Achene<\/p>\n

Fruit shape:<\/strong> Prolonged Oblong-elliptic, trihedral in cross section, areole short bi-lobed. Surface indistinctly reticulated, glabrous, slight lustrous, black with dark brown spots<\/p>\n

Fruit <\/strong>size: <\/strong>Length 1.57 to 1.97 mm, width 0.43 to 0.76 mm in an accession from Bardsir, Kerman with 1000 seed\/fruit weight 0.2 g, which was collected and identified in 2019 by Ahmad Pourmirzaei and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number of 48668.<\/p>\n

Biological<\/strong> features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Herbaceous, perennial, pubescent. Stems erect, height 30 to 80 cm<\/p>\n

Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescence spike-like with interrupted verticillasters; flower hermaphrodite, zygomorphic, calyx gamosepalous\u200c tubular, 6 mm in long, 2-lipped, upper lip 3-toothed, lower lip 2-toothed, covered with soft hairs and secretory glands; corolla gamopetalous 10 to 12 mm in long, 2-lipped, upper lip 2 \u00a0separated lobs, lower lip 3-lobed, glabrous, blue. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects, especially bees.<\/p>\n
