Seed Storage <\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15-20% eRH, and store at -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination<\/strong> requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 \u00baC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).<\/p>\n

Fruit type:<\/strong> Achene<\/p>\n

Fruit shape:<\/strong> Subcylindrical, apex truncate, with low crenate corona, without papus, base truncate. Surface longitudinally furrowed, slightly lustrous, dirty cream color<\/p>\n

Fruit <\/strong>size: <\/strong>Length 3.05 to 3.06 mm, width 0.45 to 3.56 mm in an accession from Shiraz, Fars, with 1000 seed\/fruit weight 0.49 g, which was collected and identified in 2018 by Ahmad Hatami and Naser Abdolahi and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number of 48779.<\/p>\n

Biological<\/strong> features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Subshrub, perennial, wooden at the base, pubescent. Stems numerus, erect 15 to 20 cm in height<\/p>\n

Inflorescence,<\/strong> flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescences solitary capitate; capitulum discoid; florets hermaphrodite, yellow; involucral bracts multiseriate; receptacle flat. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects and wind.<\/p>\n
