Seed Storage <\/strong><\/p>\n

The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15 to 20% eRH, and store at -20\u00b0C.<\/p>\n

Germination<\/strong> requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 \u00baC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15\/20 \u00baC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).<\/p>\n

Morphology<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fruit type:<\/strong> Silique, dehiscent<\/p>\n

Fruit shape: <\/strong>Linear, apex narrowed and them widened, bilobed. Surface pubescent, color dark olive<\/p>\n

Fruit size: <\/strong>Length 110 to 190 mm, width 4 mm<\/p>\n

Seed shape:<\/strong> Broad elliptic, winged. Surface glabrous, slightly shiny, brown, wing membranous<\/p>\n

Seed size: <\/strong>Length 4.64 to 4.92 mm, width 2.66 to 3.22 mm in an accession from Zanjan, with 1000 seeds weight 3.15 g, which was collected and identified in 2016 by Mohammad Mahmoodi, and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number 46175.<\/p>\n

Biological<\/strong> features<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life form: <\/strong>Perennial subshrub, woody at the base, pubescent. Stem erect, 20 to 27 cm long<\/p>\n

Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism:<\/strong> Inflorescence lax raceme; flowers hermaphrodite, regular; gamosepalous, sepals are about 10 mm long; polypetalous, petals narrowed rectangular, obtuse, margin entire to sparsely dentate, unguiculate, 25 to 27 mm long, greenish-yellow to lemon-yellow. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects and wind.<\/p>\n
