Seed Storage
The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15-20% eRH, and store at -20°C.
Germination requirements
The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 ºC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15/20 ºC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).

Fruit shape: Rectangular, smooth, and with tiny tip, covered with short, silky appressed hairs, 5-8 seeded
Fruit size: Length 30 to 40 mm; width 7 to 9 mm
Seed shape: Round-ellipsoid, brown to dark green
Seed size: length 3.93 to 4.41 mm, width 3.67 to 3.74 mm in an accession with 1000 seeds weight 60.6 g, which was collected by Abdi from Arak, Markazi, and the cultivated sample was identified by Nastaran Jalilian with an accession number 14791
Average 1000 seed weight: 26 to 80.73 g
Biological features
Life form: Annual herb, with scattered hairs, erect or prostrate, 8-60 cm high
Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism: Inflorescence without peduncle and 1-flowerd at the axle, 13-16 rarely 10 flowered. Corolla yellow to purple. Calyx campanulate and curved at the base, covered with appressed scattered hairs. Flowers hermaphrodite and self-pollinating. Pollination is carried out by insects (entomophily).

Geographical distribution: Turkey, Iran, Caucasus, Syria, and Iraq. Typus: Unknown
Distribution in Iran: Included 2 varieties:
1-V. mivhauxii var. michauxii: West, Center and South. Mostly in Kordestan, Kermanshah, Isfahan, Kohkoloyeh ve Boyerahmad, Bushehr, Khuzestan, and Tehran provinces.
2-V. mivhauxii var. stenophylla: North, East, West, Center, and South. Mostly in Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Fars, and Khuzestan provinces.
