Seed Storage
The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds), dry to 15 to 20% eRH, and store at -20°C.
Germination requirements
The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks at 4 ºC to germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15/20 ºC (the higher temperature for 16 hours in light and the lower one for eight hours in dark).

Fruit type: Silicle
Fruit shape: Elliptic to obovoid, beaked, wing papery, green or purple
Fruit size: Length 6 to 9 mm; width 5 to 7 mm
Seed shape: Obovoid, apex rounded, bottom gradually narrowed, radicular furrow distinct. Surface faint reticulate, orange-brown
Seed size: Length 1.43 to 2.09 mm, width 0.68 to 1.19 mm in an accession from Chalus, Mazandaran, with 1000 seeds weight 0/8 g, which was collected and identified in 2018 by Shahram kiadaliri and the cultivated sample was identified by Shahram Kiadaliri, and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number 47177.
Average 1000 seed weight: 0.8 to 2.4 g
Biological features
Life form: Perennial, woody at the base, 25 to 50 cm height
Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism: Inflorescence raceme, terminal, flowers actinomorphic, calyx green or purple, corolla rectangular-spatulate, pink, light purple or white,. Flowers hermaphrodite and cross-pollinating. Pollination is carried out by insects and wind.

Distribution in Iran: Northwest, West, Center and Northeast. Mostly in provinces Mazandaran, Azerbaijan, Hamadan, Lorestan, Isfahan, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, Bakhtiari, Fars and Tehran
