Seed Storage
The storage behavior of this species is orthodox (desiccation-tolerant seeds); dry to 15-20 % eRH and stored at -20 °C.
Germination requirements
The seeds of this species are not dormant. Sterilize seeds before placing them on wet germination paper. Place seeds for two weeks in 4ºC germinate uniformly. Then germinate under an alternating temperature regime of 15/25 ºC (the higher temperature for 16 hours of light and the lower one for 8 hours of dark).

Fruit type: Achene
Fruit shape: Oblong, narrowed to base, dorsal side convex, ventral side convex with longitudinal ridge, trihedral in cross section, apex truncate with short corona, base narrowed to a black hilum. Surface indistinctly reticulated, dull, pale brown to gray
Fruit size: Length 4.90 to 6.15 mm, width 2.59 to 3.10 mm in an accession from Doroud, Lorestan with 1000 seed/fruit weight 7 g, which was collected and identified in 2020 by Javad Mohebi, and is stored in the Natural Resources Gene Bank of Iran with the accession number of 48146.

Biological features
Life form: Subshrub, cushion-like, perennial, spiny, pubescent. Stems erect or ascending, height 15 to 40 cm
Inflorescence, flower type, and pollination mechanism: Inflorescence separated verticillasters; calyx gamosepalous, tubular-campanulat, 16 to 30 mm in long, 5-toothed, glabrous or pubescent; corolla gamopetalous, 2-lipped, upper lip fused 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed. Plant monoecious, cross-pollinated. Pollination is carried out by insects, especially bees.
